G-MS-001E | Metal Lathe for Beginners [ENGLISH] (B)

Metal turning made easy...

This Safety and Basic Functions Course teaches you the basic handling and safety aspects of the Weiler Praktikant GS lathe.

Attendees will learn practical aspects of turning, including general safety, correct fitting of tools, setting coordinates, determing the right speeds for your job, as well as traversing and facing operations.

This safety and basic functions course is a prerequisite for using the lathe in MakerSpace!

Safety note: Please do not wear arm jewellery / ribbons as well as scarves, wide sleeves or other loose clothing to the course!
+ Note for people with long hair: Please take hair ties with you!

• Horizontal lathe Weiler Praktikant GS
• Lathe tools
• Drilling chuck, centering and machine bits

Duration 

3,5 hours

Minimum Age

• 16 years
• For users between 16 and 18 years of age, written consent of a parent or guardian is required.

Prerequisite

Fluent English skills

Safety Requirements

Closed shoes must be worn in the workshop at all times. Access to MakerSpace will be denied in case of non-compliance, .
