Wood Workshop for Beginners [ENGLISH]

G-HO-001E | SGK [B]

Wood Worms on Board!

In this safety and basic function course you learn the safe operation of fundamental woodworking machines. Various saws and grinding machines as well as the table drilling machine are treated. In addition you will be given the appropriate techniques, which serve as a basis for the fast and safe implementation of creative ideas in the processing of wood. Apply the newly acquired woodworking techniques and take home your own wooden object.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Plan and construct simple individual wooden projects (stool, chair, shelf, etc.)

  • Cut wood to precise dimensions and angles

  • Post-process wooden objects

This course is a prerequisite for using the machines independently in MakerSpace!

Tip: For all those who want to work with natural wood, the course HO-002 (planing and milling) – only available in German – is recommended as a complementary course, as natural wood (due to possible bark or unevenness) can only be processed (sawn and glued) well after planing!
